Getting Started
We're a couple in our early 30s and we're going to our first lifestyle event in Orlando next month. We're excited but nervous. What should we expect? Any tips for making a good first impression? What should we wear?

Congratulations on taking the leap! Here are my top tips for your first event in Orlando: 1. **Communicate with your partner** — Set clear boundaries before you arrive. Decide what you're comfortable with and stick to it. 2. **Dress to impress** — For ladies, a cocktail dress or sexy outfit. For men, a button-down shirt and nice pants (no jeans or sneakers at most clubs). 3. **Don't drink too much** — A couple drinks to loosen up is fine, but you want to be present and aware. 4. **Say no gracefully** — "Thank you, but we're not interested" is a complete sentence. No one will be offended. 5. **Don't expect too much your first time** — Most couples just watch and socialize on their first visit. That's totally normal and expected. Have fun and welcome to the community!

The biggest mistake first-timers make is putting pressure on themselves. Go with zero expectations. Think of it as going to a really cool cocktail party where everyone is open-minded. If you end up just chatting and people-watching all night, that's a great first experience. The play will come naturally when you're both ready.

One thing I wish someone told me before our first event: bring a lock for the lockers, bring flip-flops if there's a pool/hot tub area, and bring breath mints. Also, most Orlando clubs are BYOB so bring a bottle of whatever you like to drink. Have a wonderful time!
